Heavyweight Twill Work Pants—Tobacco

Heavyweight Twill Work Pants—Tobacco

Domestic Workwear (N )

$120 — Sold out.

Everything about these pants is overbuilt, from the 11oz twill used throughout (even for the pocket bags) to the heavy-duty brass zipper to the oversized belt loops to the bar-tacking at stress points. Altogether, a pair weighs in at around two pounds. As soon as I put them on, I knew I'd found my new favorite pants.

  • 11oz US-made heavyweight 100% cotton twill with a firm hand—not peached, sanded, or washed
  • #6 US-made YKK heavy-duty brass zipper
  • Flat-felled back and inside leg seams
  • Heavy-duty oversize belt loops for heavy work belts
  • Quarter front pockets and back welt pockets
  • Self-fabric pocketing all around—pocket bags are constructed of the same 11oz twill as the pants
  • Unhemmed—hem to length, or just wear them rolled
  • Made in the USA (Chicago, IL)

This is a classic straight-leg work pant with a medium rise.

Expect some shrinkage if you run these through the dryer—about 1.25" shrinkage in the inseam, and a general tightening-up through the top block. Also, expect some fading in the wash—see last photograph.

Daniel Evans, the founder of Domestic Workwear, was working as a mover and wasn't satisfied with the work pants he could find on the market; they were cheaply made and they didn't hold up. So he decided to make his own. All Domestic Workwear pants are made here in Chicago, IL, in a family-owned factory on Chicago's West Side with many years of experience in uniform and workwear manufacturing.
